Grati-TWOS-day!

No lie, I was going to use today's post to recap and make sense of Sunday's VMA's (Video Music Awards on MTV, for everyone scratching their heads), but I'm still trying to bleach my eyeballs from Miley Cyrus defiling a giant foam finger and can't put the event into words just yet.

So instead, I'm going to focus on TWO things that make today Grati-TWOS-day for this girl. (<- get it, because today is TUESday?)

1) From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone that has visited my little corner of the Internet since I began blogging in July. What started off as an outlet for me to share my life with family and friends all over the world has turned into something I look forward to every single day. I've had a lot of fun with this, and it means a lot to me that you take time out of your day to visit Pink, Blonde, Texas and share along in a few laughs with Mr. Cush, Riley and me. To date, the site has been visited more than 4,000 times and that absolutely blows my mind. In the words of Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose, 'thank you for being a friend.'

I'd be friends with these women ... they always had cheesecake.
2) Today I'm boarding a flight to Honolulu for a business trip. For the last seven years, I've visited some amazing places due to my career and I'm grateful for these opportunities. I'm working on becoming a better business traveler - too often, I simply work throughout the entirety of these trips and don't fully take in the local hot spots and tourist attractions. I'm not 100% certain I'll have much time to, say, visit Pearl Harbor or Diamond Head this week, but if I do, you can rest assured I'll supply photographic evidence on Instagram.

Aloha! Don't worry, I'll still have posts for you everyday while in paradise!

  1. My once piece of advice as someone who grew up in Hawaii...I assume you are staying in Waikiki. For beach time, skip the main Kalakaua drag area and walk down a bit toward Ala Moana to the Hale Koa/Hilton Hawaiian beach. A LOT less people, more sand area and a lot less rocky in the water. Another tip is you don't have to be military to get drinks at the Barefoot Bar at the Hale Koa and their prices are a lot better. Don't leave Hawaii without having a Lava Flow!

    1. Melanie - thank you so much for the great tips! You're right ... Kalakaua is very touristy and not my scene at all. I haven't had a chance to venture too far from the hotel (did go to Hanauma Bay, beautiful views!), but let me just tell you ... that Lava Flow changed my life!!! Excellent beverage!!!
