Fall Fancies

Fall is the most fabulous time of the year. I won't be that annoying person that raves and gushes about football and pumpkin-flavored everything, but I will be one of the first to admit that fall color palettes pretty much make me weak in the knees.

Pantone Fashion Report Color Report Fall 2013

How beautiful are Pantone's picks for fall? I want these jewel-toned colors everywhere in my life - my home, clothes, car, nails, accessories. You name it, and I want to be surrounded by these colors.

Looking at fall color palettes helps me mentally prepare for the transition from summer to fall, too. I'm slowly letting go of my bright pinks and embracing berry and plum shades, and I'm thinking about adding some honey-hued lowlights when I visit the salon in a few weeks.

Screw the pumpkin lattes and give me some berry-colored lipgloss!
My Fall Fancies, above from left to right:

1) No one has ever denied that Carrie Underwood has beautiful blonde locks. Her colorist does an amazing job of keeping her blonde from turning brassy, yet still adding in some deeper shades to seamlessly transition between seasons.

2) Berry-colored clothes, berry-colored nails and berry-colored lips are pretty much the fall trifecta for me. It's not much longer until my pink glosses will have to wait 'til April before we rendezvous again.

3) With a deep-berry pout, you have to keep your eye makeup from being overly dramatic. This palette from Bobbi Brown would be ideal to create a soft, simple eye look, yet is still colorful enough to make it worthwhile in the spring.
